Rooftop Loft SyJ

On 7. Januar 2014 by Daniel Gr├╝nkranz

The rooftop loft is an upward extension of a small traditional row house in the inner city of Luxembourg. The goal of the project was to create additional living space and answer to the needs of the residents. A living and kids play room as well as a rooftop atelier room complete the addition. Notches and a slight twist of the floors generate various views from the loft into the surrounding neighborhood. The top floor is equipped with a roofed terrace that faces the garden. The project was developed as a contemporary interpretation of the roof shapes, which characterize the local row houses, while introducing a new aspect to the townscape.
